Has anyone else felt completely disillusioned by the "creative dream" career path?

I've been a professional graphic designer for about eight years now. Lately, I've been wrestling with this intense feeling of regret about my career choice. Everyone sold it as this perfect blend of passion and profession, but the reality feels so different—incredibly competitive, often undervalued, and sometimes just creatively draining.

It got me thinking about how media and culture sell us these "dream" lifestyles and careers (like the whole "digital nomad" thing). The promised version never seems to match the messy, frustrating, and sometimes financially shaky reality.

I found this interesting site for sharing unfiltered stories about work and life experiences (you can check it out here). Reading other people's candid posts about career disillusionment and unexpected paths (like one person who mentioned using early AI tools to pivot their career) actually made me feel less alone.

I'm curious about your insights. How much do you think modern media and online culture create unrealistic expectations for our careers and lives? Have you ever pursued a "dream" only to find the reality was totally different?
