Section 80g of the income tax act makes it possible for individuals to get tax deductions for their contributions to eligible ngos or charitable organizations. The contribution may receive a deduction of 50% or 100% depending on the kind of charitable organization to which the donation was given with the ngo being certified under 80g of the income tax act.
