Used a PVR Gift Card for Every Movie This Month
I watch a lot of movies—probably more than I should—so I decided to try something different this month: I used a PVR gift card through GyFTR for every single booking instead of paying directly.
At first, I didn’t expect much difference. A movie ticket is a movie ticket, right? But after a few bookings, I noticed a small shift in how I was spending. Since I was loading a fixed amount onto the gift card, I became a bit more selective about show timings, formats (IMAX vs standard), and even snacks.
It also made the whole process feel slightly more planned. Instead of impulse booking late-night shows, I was checking options in advance to make the most out of the balance. Not a huge change, but enough to make me feel more in control of my spending.
In terms of value, I wouldn’t call it a massive saving, but there were moments where it felt like I was getting a better deal compared to paying directly. Plus, having everything sorted beforehand made the checkout process quicker.
By the end of the month, I didn’t feel like I had spent less—but I definitely felt like I had spent smarter.
So, worth it? If you watch movies regularly, I’d say yes—mainly for the convenience and better spending control rather than just savings.
