Forza Horizon 6 features an incredible lineup of machinery, but few cars carry the same legendary status as the 1998 Nissan R390 (GT1). Known among the community as the "mysterious Nissan of the mountain passes," this ultra-rare, street-legal supercar masterpiece is hidden away as one of the game's 15 unique Barn Finds.

If you are looking to add this absolute powerhouse to your garage, you cannot just drive out and grab it immediately. Here is the exact breakdown of how to unlock the rumor, pinpoint the hidden barn, and claim your car without wasting credits.

How to Unlock the Rumor

The barn is locked tight until you actually trigger the official map rumor. If you drive to the location early, you won't be able to interact with it. To get the purple rumor circle to appear on your map, you need to progress your campaign and climb the ranks:

  • Build Campaign Points: Play through standard story missions, dive into high-stakes touge battles, win road races, or smash regional mascots scattered across the map.

  • Track Your Progress: Keep an eye on your Collector's Journal inside the main campaign menu.

  • Hit Level 6 (Adventurer): You need to grind until you reach Level 6 in your Discover Japan rank.

  • Claim the Purple Stamp: Reaching Level 6 awards you the Discover Japan Purple Stamp. The moment you earn this tier, the Nissan R390 rumor zone will instantly pop up on your world map.

Exact Barn Location Details

Once the purple circle is active, look toward the southwestern region of the map. You will want to look along the border where the Ohtani region meets the Shimonoyama region.

To pinpoint the exact garage, follow these landmarks:

  1. Locate the Matsumi Great Bridge icon on your map.

  2. Look just north of the bridge to spot a long, winding gravel road.

  3. Find the start gate for the Bridge Underpasses Trailblazer. Right next to the T-junction at this exact gate, look closely for an inconspicuous, easily missed gravel driveway cutting straight into the dense forest.

  4. Follow this narrow dirt path all the way up into the hills and deep into the trees. The hidden barn structure sits waiting at the end of the trail.

Collection & Restoration Tip

Driving up to the structure triggers a great cutscene where your character slides open the doors to find the legendary R390 sitting high on a welding lift.

Once the cutscene ends, the car is sent back to your main garage to begin a timed restoration process. The game will immediately hit you with a prompt offering to finish the restoration instantly in exchange for a massive fee in credits.

Do not pay it. Decline the prompt, head back out into the open world, and complete a few race events or PR stunts. After a bit of driving, the game will notify you that the restoration is complete, and you can claim your fully restored Nissan R390 GT1 completely free of charge.
