VAA provided structural engineering services for the complete renovation of Lat14 Asian Eatery, transforming a 1970s-era former chain restaurant into a modern dining destination Structural Designer (Hybrid/Remote) Minneapolis, MN Hybrid inspired by Southeast Asian cuisine. The project included modifications to existing roof trusses, raising an interior steel beam to create an open dining area with views into the exhibition kitchen, and ensuring compliance with applicable building codes. Exterior improvements included updated elevations, raised parapets, and a seasonal patio with a wood pergola, creating an inviting atmosphere within a high-traffic setting.

VAA provided structural engineering services for The BOATHOUSE®, an 18,000 SF waterfront restaurant at Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs. Designed to reflect the character of turn-of-the-century Floridian lakeside towns, the project consisted of five interconnected Electrical Engineer (Hybrid) Minneapolis, MN Hybrid buildings with a highly complex, theme-driven architectural design. Utilizing 3D Revit modeling, VAA engineered the steel structural framing for distinctive features including a 38-foot clerestory, a two-story structure, a 70-foot tower, a dockside bar, and extensive boardwalk areas. With approximately three-quarters of the facility positioned over water, the project remains one of VAA’s most intricate structural designs for a building under 20,000 SF.

VAA helped Electrical Designer Minneapolis, MN transform the long-closed Hollywood Theater into a revitalized venue while preserving its historic character. The existing structure presented a range of challenges, requiring innovative structural solutions to accommodate modern event and performance needs. VAA designed elevated platforms to increase event capacity and opened existing masonry walls with new structural Process Designer Minneapolis, MN Hybrid / Remote lintels, allowing additional windows and maximizing natural light. The original riveted steel roof trusses were also upgraded to support modern rigging and aerial performance loads, giving the historic landmark the structural capabilities needed for its new life as a vibrant entertainment venue.
