How You Can Feed 20 Guests From One Place

If you have family gatherings in Qatar, you probably know how quickly a small dinner can turn into a full house. You might be expecting 10 people, then a few cousins arrive, someone brings the children, and suddenly there are 20 people looking for somewhere to sit and something to eat.

The difficult part isn't only having enough food. It is having enough different food.

Some guests will want pizza, others will look for chicken, a few may prefer pasta, and there will always be someone asking what is available for dessert. Ordering all of that from different restaurants can become more work than the gathering itself.

For a group of around 20, I would keep things much simpler and build one large order from a menu that already gives you some variety. Pizza Hut Qatar works quite well for this because you can cover the main meal, sides and dessert without having to coordinate several deliveries.

I’d Start With Three Large Pizzas

For the main part of the table, my starting point would be the WOW Triples Large.

The nice thing about ordering three large pizzas is that you can make each one different. I wouldn't choose three identical flavours. Go for a familiar favourite, a meatier option and something with chicken or another topping so there is a bit of choice when everyone starts helping themselves.

Pizza is also easy food for a gathering like this. People don't have to sit down and eat a full meal at the same time. Someone can take a couple of slices when they arrive, have another later, or simply grab a slice while everyone is talking.

The current WOW Triples Large is QAR 117, giving you a straightforward base for the meal without having to work out individual pizzas for every guest.

Then I'd Add Wings

I wouldn't make pizza the only thing on the table, though.

For 20 people, I'd add two Half & Half Traditional Wings Buckets with 20 pieces each. That gives you 40 wings altogether, which adds something completely different to the pizza.

The Half & Half option is useful for a family gathering because you don't have to settle on one flavour for everyone. You can split the sauces between two choices, which gives guests a little more freedom.

The wings don't need to feed everyone. They're there for people who want chicken with their pizza, or simply want something to pick at while they're sitting around the table.

And with a group this size, finger food tends to disappear fairly quickly.

Two Pasta Portions Are Enough to Add Another Choice

I'd also put two Meaty Marinara Pastas into the order.

This is one part of the order where I wouldn't go overboard. You don't need 20 portions of pasta just because there are 20 guests.

Two servings give people another option if they don't feel like eating pizza, while the rest of the table still has plenty of other food. Guests can share the pasta, take a little alongside their pizza, or leave it for someone who particularly wants it.

At QAR 27 each, two portions come to QAR 54.

It is a small addition, but it makes the overall spread feel much more varied.

Leave Room for Something Sweet

I'd finish the order with one Choco Hazelnut Pull Apart.

After a table full of pizza, wings and pasta, I don't think you need a complicated dessert. Something that people can simply pull apart and share works better.

At QAR 22, it is also a relatively small addition to the overall order. Put it in the middle of the table and people can help themselves when they're ready for something sweet.

My Order for 20 Guests

So, if I were putting the order together, this is where I'd start:

Food

Quantity

Cost

WOW Triples Large

1

QAR 117

Half & Half Traditional Wings Bucket, 20 PCS

2

QAR 110

Meaty Marinara Pasta

2

QAR 54

Choco Hazelnut Pull Apart

1

QAR 22

Total

QAR 303

That brings the total to QAR 303, or roughly QAR 15 per person when divided between 20 guests.

I would treat that as a starting point rather than a strict calculation. If your gathering is mostly adults with big appetites, you may want to add another pizza or more sides. If children make up a good portion of the group and people are likely to snack throughout the evening, this sort of mixed spread may go quite a bit further.

Why I Would Keep It to One Restaurant

There is another reason I like this kind of order: you don't have to manage four different deliveries.

Imagine ordering pizza from one restaurant, wings from another, pasta from somewhere else and dessert from a fourth place. You then have several orders to place, different delivery estimates to keep track of and potentially several riders arriving at different times.

That's a lot to deal with when you're already getting the house ready.

Putting everything into one order is simply easier. You can decide on the flavours, check the quantities and place the order without spending the afternoon comparing menus.

I'd also use online ordering rather than waiting until everyone has arrived. When you know roughly how many people are coming, it is much easier to sit down beforehand and build the order while you still have a clear head.

Don't Try to Give Everyone Their Own Meal

This is probably the biggest thing I'd keep in mind when ordering for 20.

You don't need to create 20 separate meals.

A family gathering works differently. One person might eat three slices of pizza. Another might have wings and a slice. A child might eat one slice and come back for dessert later. Someone else may ignore the pizza altogether and have some pasta.

That's why I'd rather put a few different things in the middle of the table than order the same meal over and over again.

The pizzas provide the main food, the wings give people another savoury option, the pasta adds some variety and the dessert finishes things off. People can take whatever suits them.

A Simple Plan for a Big Gathering

For a gathering of around 20, my starting order would be one WOW Triples Large, two 20-piece Half & Half Traditional Wings Buckets, two Meaty Marinara Pastas and one Choco Hazelnut Pull Apart.

At QAR 303, it gives you a fairly broad spread without turning the food order into another project.

And if you're comparing the best pizza deals for a family gathering, I wouldn't only look at the price of the pizza. I'd look at what you can put on the table with it. Having several types of food available usually works better than spending the entire budget on one enormous order of the same thing.

For a gathering this size, convenience matters too. One menu, one order and one delivery is a lot easier to manage when there are already 20 people waiting to be fed.
